US Civil War Box Plate

Here is a pic of a box plate and a buckle I dug from Seven Pines/ White Oak battle. Box Plate cleaned up great-one of the best looking ones I have seen. November 20, 2017 is the day I recovered my first ever Civil War US Box Plate. I went on a 4 day relic hunt with 6 other friends up in Virginia. We all had s. This frame consists of US belt, breast and box plates including the sword belt plate (enlistedman's model) and the rarer Ohio Volunteer Militia belt plate. One US Box plate has brass loops and was issued to Ohio troops. I dug .

Detector(s) used Whites MXT, Dual Field, CZ-21, Vaquero, Home Brewed (3). Detecting since 1972. Primary Interest: All Treasure Hunting

I gave the AT Max a rest today, and used my AT Gold instead. I turned up this nice US Box plate about 6 inches down. Another relic saved.

Can you tell how old that license plate is? I’m not American, but I where I live you can tell when the license was issued based on the order of letters and numbers. I got 2 box plates 1 a def. US box plate the other too beat up to tell.. we found lots of relics and bullets..
