That thread ain't wrong but idk about being able to run a non drop arm with 5.5" lift. He probably has crossover or high steer too. I'd see too much angle in the tierod ends with a good lift and no drop pitman. It is hard to tell from the pics, in part because even a stock pitman arm will have some "drop" to it. The easy way would be to compare it to another Jeep with a stock arm. In my case, I installed a RE 4.5" long-arm lift back in 2008. The instructions remain ambiguous even today as to whether or not to use the included drop mount or pitman arm. I wound up installing both and have zero bump steer or handling issues. I'm now at 90,000 miles on the lift with plenty of off road time.
