For thin sheet metal welding it can be 30 ampere while for thicker (e.g. 1/8” square groove weld)- it can go up to 220 ampere for example. GMAW-S gives low heat and makes it easy to use in all positions on sheet metal, low carbon steel, low alloy steel, and stainless steel sheet metal from 25 gauge (0.02 inch or 0.5 mm) to 12 gauge (0.1 .

Can anyone help, although my software (Vcarve pro) is set to cut a profile through the material the cnc router is not cutting to the required. depth. The material is 6mm . When my Z axis goes to position it is not quite completely at the exact cutting depth when Mach3 sends the next instructions so I am seeing a little bit of a ramp occur when it . i first check the Z movement (distance) in mach to the actual movement (distance) of the spindle. i set the base of the spindle 55mm from the bed zeroed the Z axis and then .

I just got a CNC mill controlled by Mach3 and I'm trying a simple design with Fusion360. However, whenever I generate the g-code and start it in Mach3 the coordinates suddenly change (I zeroed them before) and the mill .

On my machine I am using Mach3 and if I use the commands G0Z0.03 the z-axis moves to that point and no further. But when I use a VCarve file like the one attached it cuts . Sounds like something is causing the Z axis to bind on that upper section of ACME rod. If the rod is not perfectly straight and perpendicular to the wasteboard it may cause the . When i put a indicator on my 3 axis to check them against the dro in mach3, they are all pretty solid except the z. It is way off. The dro has to move
Hi there, I'm brand new to cnc machines and got my hands on a dyna 1000 24x36 with mach3. I got a brief run down from the previous owner but now I'm on my own and reading up like mad :) I can't seem to get my z axis to return to zero. I can move all three axis but when I press GoTo Zero only the x and y return.
I am brand new in all the world of the CNC machines. I bought a CNC 3020T-DJ and after hours spend on this forum I managed to connect it to the PC and configure it. Thanks a lot! My problem arrives when I want to move the CNC machine. Y axis and Z axis work fine, either via keyboard arrows or with the Mach3 jog, but I get no movement at all in . When i put a indicator on my 3 axis to check them against the dro in mach3, they are all pretty solid except the z. It is way off. The dro has to move This post explains how I modified the KRMx02 MACH3 screen to run the macro using the (not implemented) “Auto Tool Zero” button on the main MACH3 screen (in the KRMx02 profile). . 7 'Get Z axis value, subtract 7 to set ZNew target for maximum probe depth '7 is the maximum Z axis movement and then some, you may decide to use a smaller value . When i put a indicator on my 3 axis to check them against the dro in mach3, they are all pretty solid except the z. It is way off. The dro has to move
Hello, Learning off YouTube videos, I saw a chap zeroing in his Z axis by bringing the spindle with a router bit in it loose, not held in and when the bit is on the part, tightening the bit and zeroing the Z. Hope I explained this correctly. I had been zeroing in by fixing the bit and moving it fixed in the spindle untill it touched. Most belt driven machines that lose steps are one of several reasons. 1. Z belt tension. Belt must be tight. If your Z stepper motor set screws are not can cause inconsistent depths. 2. V wheels not adjusted properly. V wheels need to be snug but not crushed. 3. Retract height is too high. If retract is set too high z hits stop and looses steps. 4. When i put a indicator on my 3 axis to check them against the dro in mach3, they are all pretty solid except the z. It is way off. The dro has to move almost double what the dial indicator says. So if I move it so the indicator says .125 then the dro says .22 something. Is this a motor tuning issue in mach3? Thanks for the help.
Cnc not cutting correct size; Holes not coming out correct size; Scale drawing to correct size. . the X axis, thats where I would start looking.A photograph of the machine might help, together with a description of the depth of cut and feed speed. Posted via Mobile . With my machine the X-axis runs along the gantry and the gantry runs along . Need some help if you please. I am attempting to run my first project on Mach 3 and when my router begins to run it slams into my table. (Good thing I have a spoil board) I have narrowed the issue down to the Z axis being programmed in reverse but . I save the toolpath using the Legacy post processor for Delta controller, and transfer it to my machine. On the machine I used the Smartool gadget to set depth for the z axis. I set offset G54 to zero (x,y,z) and verify that the machine actually moves to these coordinates.

If the balancing system for the Z plate is not exactly right the plate could creep either up or down. Many machines use air cylinders for the balance, if the regulator doesn't maintain the correct pressure things can slip. Industrial level machines use two cylinders, one on each side of the Z plate, to provide balanced forces.
Hi, i have the Syil X5+ CNC machine, using MasterCAM X5 for solidworks and Mach 3. after getting the tool paths to mach3, the Z and X axis are moving in the opposite direction than what they should be moving.Without homing, the machine doesn't know where the hard limits are. It could run a rapid move and not be able to stop in time before hitting the end of an axis. Not a fun thing to do. And, yes, if you switch tooling you'll have to re-zero your touchoff for the Z axis. the machine is a 6040 chinese cnc . Go into Mach 3 motor tuning and enter 400 in the steps per unit for each axis (X,Y,Z). This will equal 400 steps to travel 1mm. . Next use Mach 3 calibration function and follow the instruction on the popup window. enter a distance value and then measure the travel with a digital caliper. .
I followed the set by set procedures to setup and calibrate Mach3 and my cnc machine. I also disabled the estop. Now when I try to move the x, y, or z axis my cnc machine will not move. when I plug in my parallel port and usb cable from my cnc box to my computer I hear a knock sound from all 3 motors telling me that the motors are starting up. As far as I know is should be possible to change the setup in CAM-software to output g-code with inverted z-axis. But this is not the route I would like to go if I can avoid this. Is it possible to change this direction indication for the Z-axis? Similar Threads: Need Help!-Inverted X-Axis; Mach3 losing machine coordinates after reseting; Need .

A 2.5 axis machine really has three moving axes, but only two axes can move together (most machines sold today are full three axis machines). For machining centers, a three axis machine will have three linear axes. A four or five axis machine will have three linear axes as well as one or two rotary axes. But the DRO still reads that it is in the correct position (X0, Y0, Z0). And this happens even when the machine is running in the air and there is no material being cut. The distance that is lost in the positive Z direction seems to have a direct correlation with how much movement takes place in the Z axis. For example: I am running the Mach3 CNC software on this machine. I am also trying to figure out Fusion 360 for designing simple parts and then trying to machine them on the milling machine. My first project is a simple part with two slots milled all the way through some 1/8" aluminum piece of scrap material.

@long.hw . Have you set your Axis swiches to be used as "Home" positions and after the machine has Homed the switches revert to being limit switches, Mach3 is very good in that it only requires a single switch at each end of the Axes 🙂.
