The inspector is claiming that these boxes cannot be used because they do not carry a fire rating. The boxes are sunk into the floor but do not penetrate through the floor. If using a 4 square bracket box to get a flush plate you will need a plaster ring. Home Depot also sells a 2 gang plastic adjustable box with a round KO and a built in screw clamp on the side. Both of these options will require some drywall repair.

Lately the receptacles for the chairs have been under the chairs, so we left the threads of the IMC conduit above slab and surface mounted our boxes.
Most floor boxes are more for electronics, Television, TV cable, VOP, or internet and the power is usually a nasty second aspect IMO! Be sure to check the Architectural Finish Schedule drawing for what is the type material that will be used on the floor!

My comment was does any one sleeve a ufer ground or a concrete encased electrode. I kindly asked for him to site the code article. No replay as of yet but will let you know. a fine example of one trade pressing a product gaurantee stipulation while screwing another trades ability to keep cost in check (ie using the spec wiring method). mean while, i bet every other trades bolck outs will not be flush. granted, its not too hard to plug the ent to facilitate flush stubs- it will just raise the time for each stub . IMO Forget using a metal box and 'shooting' the height, it is a major pain in the rear to get them dead on. Use a PVC floor box, you do not need to set the height of these. Once the finish is done you cut the extra off with a sawzall blade and install the device and plate.
